SHARE YOUR MUSIC TASTE

By combining social networking with a high-tech music recommendation system, the Spanish startup may have a hit. Next move: mobile phones. ...

Using a simple concept, MyStrands is a website that installs software on the PC of it's members. This software then keeps track of what music the member buys and listens to and then introduces new music to the member based on patterns of other listeners to similar music.

Indie musicians also check out MyStrandsIndie

AXE BOOM

If you're looking or a guitarist for your band's line up you could be in luck. According to this SydneyMorningHerald article, Australian guitar sales are booming.

Maybe those looking at taking up an instrument should consider an instrument other than the guitar, in order to be 'in demand'.

The guitar player image of that of a young male may not necessarily be so predominant as baby boomers and women take up the guitar in larger numbers.

This trend is reported to have been helped along by a worldwide popular culture trend away from dance music towards guitar bands.

Yes, it seems rock and roll will live on and there will be plenty of axe action to come.
